An upscale waterfront suburban community west of the Pacific Ocean. Marina del Rey is a major boating and water recreation destination. The marina is North America’s largest man-made small-craft harbor and is home to approximately 5,000 boats.

Marina del Rey is a fantastic upscale suburban beach community located in Los Angeles County a few miles south of Venice, south by Playa del Rey, and west by the Pacific Ocean. This waterside community is best known for its largest man-made harbor. Marina del Rey offers a large variety of boating activities which attract both tourists and residents. The Marina also has a charming Fisherman’s Wharf area with restaurants and shop you can enjoy.
It has a population of about 9,600 and offers its residents a more urban feel. There is also a prominent business community here with a few companies making their base in the business district. The Marinna attracts companies because of its close proximity to LAX and the nearby nightlife which allows them to wine and dine clients. This seaside community inn Los Angeles is popular among residents for its proximity to the beach, business community, easy access to major freeways and boating and water recreation activities.

Parks and Nature
Marina del Rey has two main parks. Burton Chace Park hosts community festivals such as the Marina del Rey Summer Concert Series and the Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade.Yvonne B. Burke Park was renamed from the original Admiralty Park in 2009 to honor long-time Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke.

Schools
Marina del Rey is in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Students from Marina del Rey attend Coeur d’Alene Avenue Elementary School, Marina del Rey Middle School, and Venice High School.
